See Forever Trail - October 11, 2020

So we ended up in Mountain Village Colorado for the night. We liked this area so much we decided to stay a few extra days so we could check out all that it has to offer. However, this day was about hiking, riding the free gondola and trying to capture an awesome photo. After we had a not so good breakfast as the hotel, we decided to go up the gondola and check out the awesome views. Awesome views were an understatement here.. These views were crazy awesome. I think we could see California if the smokey haze from the fires in Colorado/California weren’t around. We hiked for about an hour and ended up hiking up a trail called “See Forever Trail” and this is where you could see even further.. Loved the hike. It was cool and windy. The trail started out in the trees, but at the point it started to go straight up and turned into field of rocks and gold. The trail was now a 75 degree angle up with wood boxed stairs. Oooh man here we go.. We continued on and once we got to a place where it leveled out a little bit we saw forever.. Check out the image below.

Did someone say Telluride, Colorado…….

So we once we got back to the gondola we went on down the other side of the mountain to Telluride. This little town is awesome. A little hippy, a little mountain, a little ritzy and nice town. I really enjoyed this place. People seemed nice, it was busy, and the shops where fun, however, with the prices we finally realized this was no ordinary small mountain town. Its Expensive…. little high class in an old mountain town.. Either way it is definitely a great place to visit..

We ended up getting some awesome pizza at Brown Dog Pizza.. Had to take it to go because they weren’t allowing people inside to eat. “Covid”…. So we went back to our luxury hotel, were we ate our food and then took a nap.. After that we ended up at the pool area.. With an awesome slide, the kids loved that….

The evening is setting in now and we thought let’s go back up the gondola and find a place to see the stars and watch some of the sunset. It was a great thought, however, it was freezing up there. So we hurried around checking out the sunset views and then we say the lights of Telluride below. The sun had just set behind us and the it was awesome. The light was lightly hitting the top of the mountains behind Telluride. The town lights were glowing. More light was reflecting off the trees.. it was just beautiful.. This would be a great shot for a focus stacked image, I setup the tripod, composed the shot, which was kind of hard because it was getting pretty dark now. I set up my exposure to be 4 seconds at f11, focal was 24mm and ISO was 200. Then here we go, I took 5 shots at different focal points up the middle of the image and then done.. Lets get off this mountain family before we FREEZE to death..
